Argh!!  Pirates!!  That is what we have for you today.  It's my Spring Break so I enlisted the help of my 8 year old with colors on my card today.  She was certain that the pirate's tank top should be dirty so we looked for a beige/brown color until we found just the one she was looking for.  Of course, she picked red for his cap.  I added a couple of red accents to match.  Wood grain, like ships planks also worked into my card. We have a little over six months until Talk Like A Pirate Day (September 9th) so you can have plenty of pirate cards ready! Avast!  Ye can learn more about pirate speak 'ere!

Hello Friends!  It  seems like forever since we have had new MFP stamps.  We are starting this month's hop off in a big way with a new floral.  I love floral images and this set called Gardenia has some gorgeous blooms.  I stamped and embossed my top layer and proceeded to paint my bleach into the flowers.  I wish I hadn't painted my leaves with bleach as well.  It just took a couple of trials to get the leaves colored correctly.

Let's get started with today's hop.  Here are the links for  the DesignTeam:

Friends and Under Sea Adventures (03/30/15)

Happy Monday!  It's a good day indeed.  Today marks the first day of my Spring Break and a new Friends of Speedy TV challenge.  This week's challenge has a theme of "under the sea".  I couldn't help but sing the Disney tune from The Little Mermaid while I made my card.  I was also quite pleased with myself for working in a couple of leftover triangle pieces from the challenge two weeks ago.  For me, this card is definitely a belated birthday card.  It seems I need them more often than I should as a card maker.  I don't have the excuse that I can't to the store...I am apparently just too lazy to walk to the mailbox!  I used two MFP sets to create this card. I nabbed the crab from Oh, Crab and the seaweed and sentiment from Shello.

One more reason that this week is going to be wonderful is that MFP Stamp Shop is releasing new sets!  Hooray, you will want to come on back everyday this week to see the new images.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Details - Stamps: Shello (MFP), Oh Crab (MFP); Paper: Snow Storm Smooth (MFP), MME Dolled Up dp; Ink: Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Copic and Touch Twin Markers, stampin' dimensionals, Tiny Bubbles embossing folder.

Friends and Triangles and Numbers

Hello and happy Tuesday!  I have a couple of cards to share with you.  This first card was for the Friends of Speedy TV challenge to create a triangle card.  I really like that I was able to allow my gladiolas to extend over the top side of the triangle.  I used a little faux stitching to add some interest.  I stamped my butterfly once on paper and then a second time on acetate.  Then, I pressed my acetate onto my paper and came up with  a mirror image butterfly for the opposite side of the flower.  I did have to trace over the lines of the mirror image butterfly so it would be as dark as the original.  The gladiolas were really fun to color and then I added the white centers back in with a gel pen.  The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from the same set, Glad Glads.

This card was for another Friends of Speedy TV challenge to create a card with numbers.  This challenge had perfect timing in that my daughter had a party to attend and we could personalize the card for the birthday girl.  I borrowed a sketch from the Sweet Sunday sketch challenge.  The sketch had the perfect place for the number!  I added a couple of mice (from Yikes a Mouse) to look at the message and gave the little mouse a lift on a mushroom (from Fairies) .  I bent my Happy Birthday sentiment from Out of Time around in a semi-circle on my block and then stamped on my circle layer.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Be sure to pop in next week as there are new stamps coming from MFP Stamp Shop!

Friends and Hand Made Flowers (03/23/15)

Good Monday morning!  It's time again for me to post about a new Friends of Speedy TV challenge.  This week we are making cards with hand made flowers.  With spring arriving super early here in the Pacific Northwest, everything is in bloom.  All my fruit trees are blossoming, which makes me more than a tad nervous.  It wouldn't be too far out of order for us to get a hard freeze and loose all the fruit to be.  Anyhow, I created some tissue paper blossoms on my branches to replicate the lovely pink flowers on my peach tree!  Tiny squares of pink tissue, a stylus and some good glue are all it took after I stamped my branches Chill in the Air and my sentiment from Lots of Words.  A bit of sponging on the edge of the card base helped to make it match my patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Details - Stamps: Chill in the Air (MFP), Lots of Words (MFP); Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, MME Lost and Found Heirloom dp, pink tissue paper; Ink: Espresso Truffle, Crumb Cake; Accessories; Crytal Effects, Stylus, paper snips, sponge dauber.

Friends and Easter (03/02/15)

Hello and happy Monday!  It's about time....for Easter, that is.  I had this whimsical idea in my head and just couldn't get it out.  This week's Friends of Speedy TV challenge is to create an Easter card.  I hope that you will play along so that you can be the "pick of the week" and claim your 25% discount!

For my card, I grabbed four different pastels and heat embossed the small bunny from Hoppy Easter.  I colored my bunnies with a Versamark pen to get them a shade darker than my card stock.   Then I used a square punch to punch out all of my bunnies.  I matted them on slightly larger squares and popped them off of my card base.  Finally, I stamped a sentiment on my card base.  Inside, I have stamped another sentiment, Happy Easter.

Thanks for coming by and have a great day!

Details - Stamps: Hoppy Easter (MFP), In  My Den (MFP); Paper: Snow Storm Smooth (MFP), Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana, Creamy Caramel; Ink: Versamark Ink, Creamy Caramel; Accessories: White embossing powder, heat tool, stampin' dimensionals.

More Than One Score - Organization

Hello Crafty Friends!  It's March 1st already and I am not even sure where the year has gone.  This month, the More Than One Score challenge is all about organization.  Janice is our hostess and she created a pretty cool accordion file.  You will want to be sure and check it out.  When it comes to organization (which is not my forte), I am a list maker!  So I created a covered note pad.  Lists are so much nicer to look at when they come all prettied up like this.
I had a little fun with some pretty Graphic 45 papers, ribbon and a banner from my stash.  The sentiment comes from a Flourishes set called Tulips For Friends.  I just trimmed out a piece of the patterned paper and matted it a couple of times.
Here's a peek at the inside of the note pad.  It's all ready to be written on and has a little pocket for anything you need to keep a hold of.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Details - Stamps: Tulips For Friends (Flourishes); Paper: Snow Storm Smooth (MFP), Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush, Graphic 45 Secret Garden dp; Ink: Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Scor-Pal, Scor-tape, White organza ribbon, junior legal pad, stampin' dimensionals.
