Hey there!  How about a little drive today?  I would love to take a drive down this tree-lined dirt road.  How about you?  All I used here was a little color and a little imagination...and a Copic multiliner.  Voila!  I have a hillside and blue sky to go with my dirt road.  My in-house critic (read: 9 year old daughter), informed me when I just had my trees stamped in and my road sketched in, that my card was pretty plain.  After brushing her teeth, my road is much better and my trees look better too.  Ah, the magic of markers!

As soon as I saw this cool new set, I thought of all the great MFP flower sets to combine with it.  I continued to think this set and all the crafty things that you can do with terra cotta pots.  I snooped around Pinterest and came up with this fun idea.  Everyone loves Mickey, right?  I love this card and it went together really quickly!  I think we will see quite a bit of masking with this set, what do you think?

Oh yeah, I couldn't resist!  These fun little owls just begged to be colored in a cute and sassy way!  Their sketchy design begged the doodled borders as well.  This fun animal birthday set also has a fox and a moose with which to play.  I originally colored three owls, but couldn't make my card sketch work with all three.  Instead, my daughter snagged it off my crafting desk for herself.  I'll probably see it tomorrow in the hands of one of her friends.  By the way, I used an older MFP Stamp Shop set in the background.  It's called Plywood.

Hello and welcome to the MFP May Hop!  Oh boy, do we have some trees for you this week.  MFP has fabulous stamp sets for creating scenes and this one is no exception.  A sponged a band for my trees and then stamped them over the band.  I used a couple of markers to add a bit more color and then stamped my sentiment.  When you see the whole set, you will see that the Happy Birthday sentiment is stacked.  I used my craft and rubber scissors to do a little bit of elective surgery.  Another plus for photopolymer stamps is that you can align them very easily in their original orientation.

Another Scor-Pal More Than One Score and a Pop-Up Card Tutorial

Hello Crafty Friends!  Here I am in May with another Scor-Pal More Than One Score challenge.  This month's theme is Mother's Day.  We hope you create something for your mother or a special mother that you know.  Last month, I made a pop-up card and this month I have a different variation.  Today's card features a pop-up on the inside.  I promise that it is fun and easy.  Let's get started!
For this project, you will need:

  • Scor-Pal
  • Scor-Tape
  • Scor-Mat
  • 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of card stock for card base
  • 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of card stock for insert
  • Additional card stock for layers on card front
  • Craft knife
  • Ruler
  • Paper snips
  • Stamps and ink
  • Markers for coloring
  • Rhinestone embellishments

  • Place the 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" card stock for insert into the Scor-Pal with the 8 1/2" side of the card stock against the top fence.  Score at 4 1/4" and burnish the fold.  Your folded insert will now measure 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" when folded.
Place your Scor-Mat into the Scor-Pal and place your card insert with the folded side against the fence.  Cut slits 5/8" down at 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2" and 4".
Open the card insert, like a book, and lay flat.  Score at 3 5/8" and 4 7/8" at the each side of the slits, as shown.
Push the slits inside the card insert and burnish folds again.
Open card insert.  The slits are now pop-up tabs.  Apply Scor-Tape to the front side of the pop-up tabs.  The pop-ups are now ready for mounting.
Remove adhesive backing from the Scor-Tape and adhere letters.  In order to obscure the negative space created by the pop-up tabs, adhere the insert to a separate card base.  To create a border, close insert and trim 1/16" from the sides and bottom of the insert.  Do not trim the fold.
Decorate your card front as desired.
This concludes my tutorial for the May 2015 More Than One Score Mother's Day challenge.

    Happy Scoring!
