A Scor-Pal & Pink Paislee Cardfolio

I hope you have enjoyed this fun cross promotional week we have had with the folks at Pink Paislee!  Today, I want to share my main project that I created for this week.  There were some really amazing projects created by the Scor-Pal team and the Pink Paislee team.  Be sure you see them through each of the team blogs!!  I have made a project called a Cardfolio, a folding box to hold four to eight cards and envelopes.
The supplies you will need are:
  • One 12"x12" piece of paper
  • Scor-Pal
  • Scor-Tape
  • Scissors
  • Corner rounder
  • Embellishments
First, cut your 12" x 12" piece of patterned paper.  You will need to trim a 2" x 12" piece off; cut that in half ending up with two 2" x 6" pieces.  Then trim off a 1" x 12" piece off;  cut that piece in half ending with two 1" x 6" pieces.  Finally, trim remaining piece to 9" x 11 1/2".  I have used a piece of Pink Paislee patterned paper from the Portfolio collection named Unbelievable.
Place your 9" x 11 1/2" piece of paper into your Scor-Pal with the 11 1/2" side against the top fence.  Score at 1/2", 5 1/4", 6 1/4" and 11".
Turn your paper 90 degrees and align the 9" side against the top fence.  Score at 1" , 1 1/2", 7 1/2" and 8".
Take one of the 2" x 6" pieces of paper and place the 2" side against the top fence.  Score at 1/2".  Repeat on the second 2" x6" piece.
Returning to the 9" x 11 1/2" piece of patterned paper.  Trim out the four corners as marked.  You will cut on the 1/2" score line until it meets with the 1 1/2" score line.  Cut on the 5 1/4" and 6 1/4" score lines until they meet the 1 1/2" score line.  Cut on the 1" score line between the 5 1/4" and the 6 1/4" lines, leaves a 1/2" tab.
Round the corners of the four inside flaps of the project , as shown below.
Round the corners opposite the 1/2" scored section of both 2" x 6" pieces of patterned paper.
Adhere Scor-Tape to the inside 1/2" scored sections of the 2" x 6" pieces.  Adhere Scor-Tape to the center of one 1" x 6" piece of patterned paper.  Discard the other 1" x 6" piece of paper.
Place you project base desired pattern side down, remove adhesive backing on the 1" x 6" piece and adhere in the center.  This will reinforce what is to become the spine of your cardfolio.
Place your project base desired pattern up, remove adhesive backing on the 2" x 6" pieces of paper and one to each 1/2" flap on the right and left sides of the project.

Burnish all your folds. Adhere Scor-Tape to the small spine tabs and to both sides of each flap as shown.
Remove adhesive backing on the small spine tabs and adhere then to the inside of the project.  Remove the adhesive backing on the right and left flaps, fold the top and bottom flaps in and adhere the side flaps down.  This will create pockets on each side of the spine.
Embellish as desired.  I wrapped two lengths of twill tape and one length of lace around the center of my cardfolio.  Then I die cut two label shapes from some more patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Portfolio line, specifically Amazing and Remarkable.  I muted the Portfolio alphabet stickers with some tea stain ink and created a sentiment.  Finally, I added an Artisan Collection Flower which I personalized with some again ink and sparkle.  I finished my floral embellishment with some die cut leaves, silver cording and colored rhinestones.
I want to give you a look at the inside of the cardfolio which has plenty of room for cards and envelopes.  Here you can see that I used some velcro to keep my cardfolio closed.
Thanks for hanging with me to the end!

Details - Paper:  Portfolio Collection (Pink Paislee); Ink: Tea Stain, MM aging ink, crumb cake;  Accessories:  Scor-Pal, Scor-Tape, Portfolio alphabet stickers (Pink Paislee), Artisan Flowers (Pink Paislee), yellow twill tape, Victorian crocheted lace trim, silver cording, Nestabilities, sanding block, corner chomper,  rhinestones, Touch Twin marker, glue dots and velcro.

Scor-Pal and Pink Paislee Extras

Hi there!  We are at the tail end of Scor-Pal and Pink Paislee week long feature.  If you haven't seen all the amazing projects that both teams created this week, you will want to!  After you are done here, head back to the Scor-Pal blog and to the Pink Paislee blog.

For now, I want to show you the cards I packed inside my main project, the cardfolio.   My first card is a square card.  How I love square cards!!  I scored my card base on the diagonal every half inch.  This is a breeze when you pair up your Scor-Pal and your Scor-Envi.  I find that simple scoring really packs on punch on a relatively clean and simple card.  I used some of the yummy Pink Paislee Portfolio paper again.  This time I called on Amazing and Outstanding.  I finished off my card with some Pink Paislee Portfolio Alphabet Stickers which I toned down with some tea stain ink.
Next up, I did some more simple scoring on my card base.  I kept my three score lines about 1/8" apart.   This time I underscored my Pink Paislee Portfolio paper strips (Remarkable, Incredible and Amazing).  I topped off my strips with a little trimmed out tab from the paper called Unbelievable and stamped magnificent.  I mimicked the rounded corners on my card base and blasted the whole card with some shimmer!!
Third in line, we have a little birthday fun.  I scored a border on my card base and then trimmed my patterned papers to fit inside (Remarkable and Amazing).  Again, I trimmed out a fun detail in the Remarkable sheet and then popped up a birthday sentiment inside of it.  I used a Copic marker to color the Artisan Word foam sticker and laid it right down on top of my patterned paper.  I finished my card off with some punched, shimmered and popped up stars to make my card even more festive.
Finally, I couldn't resist the great pattern on the back of Stupendous.  It just begged me to stamp on it, so I did.  I matted that fun pattern with some more of the Amazing sheet.  For my sentiment, I trimmed out another tab or tag from Outstanding, stamped it and popped it up!  A wee bit of corner rounding and shimmer finishes this off.  What about my Scor-Pal?  I know, I know.  I used it...I always use it when I make my cards.  The symbols on the top fence guide me to perfectly folded cards every time!!
Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you have fabulous day!

"Winter Scenes"

I have had this card in my head from the moment that I laid eyes on this gorgeous set!  This is my attempt at a DIY poinsettia.  I die cut a ton of poinsettia leaves in various sizes and then stamped them all with the sheet music.  Then I sponged them in crumb cake and rose or green.  I finished my flower center with some glue dots and miniature gold glass marbles.  Pink poinsettias are my absolute favorite.  Of course, now that I type this, my darling six year old daughter says, "What is this, a water lily pad thing?"
Oh well, I tried!  Wait...I know, I'll ask my dear readers to weigh in with their opinion.  What sort of flower have I come up with here?

Now, you might notice that my flower hangs over the side of my A2 sized card.  A regular invitation envelope will mangle this card.  Check back in the next few days to see the larger envelope that I will make to house this beauty.

Monochromatic, Masculine, Mailable....that's my first version of Mountain Selections.  This card morphed and morphed until I had a final product.  While it may not look like it, sometimes CAS can be time consuming!
For my second card today, I opted for a daytime scene.  I continued the theme of peace.  I guess that is what the set evokes for me.  I masked my cabin, trees and mountains all together.  Then I sponged the sun, sky and foreground.  A bit of embossing on the layer beneath my scene finishes my card off.
Thanks for coming by today!  I know that Sue has something wonderful for you today so don't forget to drop by her blog.

"Winter Scenes"

My first project today was directly inspired by one of the sentiments in the featured set, Amaryllis Definition.  "You make the day sparkle" made me think of glitter and from there, I just knew I had to glitter up some Scor-Tape!  I opted for a bookmark this time around.  Shhhh, don't tell anyone, but I had to cut apart my sentiment to make it fit.  That, folks, is one of the beautiful things about clear stamps!  I just trimmed very carefully and deliberately stamped my sentiment.  After I finished, I fit my trimmed pieces back into the original shape.  It's just like a miniature crafty puzzle!
Next up, I made a card.  If you have visited before, you know I'm a CAS kind of girl.  I went simple and colored my Amaryllis Belladonna in a more common red color.  After coloring my flower, I drew a simple black line as a border and double matted my image.  A simple sentiment beneath my popped up image finishes off the card.
Thanks for checking out today's new release.  You are off to Sue's blog now to see what she has in store.

Details - Bookmark - Stamps: Amaryllis Definition (MFP); Paper: Sweet Tooth White; Ink: Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Copic and Touch Twin Markers, Scor-Tape, fine glitter, MM black eyelet, black organdy, silver cording.  Amaryllis card - Stamps: Amaryllis Definition (MFP); Paper: Sweet Tooth White, Basic Black, Art Warehouse Neutrals; Ink: Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Copic and Touch Twin Markers, copic multiliner, stampin' dimensionals.

"Winter Scenes"
I have a couple of cards to show you today with today's featured stamp set!  I'll start off with my newest card.  For this card, I sponged lots of color onto my card stock while I was thinking about the scene I wanted to stamp.  When it came time to stamp my image, it was super easy as all of the Mark's Finest Papers stamps are clear stamps.  I positioned my image so that it looked like a sunset scene!!

My second card is one that you might have already seen, if you started today's blog hop at the Mark's Finest Papers blog.  I started with a black card base for this one.  I stamped the building stamps four times.  I stamped them 3 times in gray and one time in yellow.  I trimmed out just one of the buildings in yellow and popped it up for interest.  Then I embossed my sentiment in white.  There you have an easy clean and simple card!
Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to head on over to Sue's blog to see what creation she has in store.

Friends and Snowmen

How about a little holiday fun?  I have it on pretty good authority that the next Friends of Speedy TV challenge is all about snowmen!  I think the timing is perfect as we are quickly approaching Christmas.  I picked some fun sparkly designer paper as my background for this lovely snow woman!  I paper pieced her scarf and hat and glittered up her hat trim, ear muffs and buttons.  I finished it off with a hand drawn snow line and a sentiment. Don't forget that Mark's Finest Papers offers a free stamp set to one randomly chosen participant!!
I followed a sketch from one of my new favorite sketch blogs too!  This is the sixth sketch from the CAS (E) this Sketch! blog.  Instead of making an A2 sized card, I made mine square.
Thanks for stopping by!  There's lots on my blog today, so feel free to read on a bit.
