Friends and Distress

Good Monday Morning!  It was soooo hard for me to get out of bed this morning but hopefully this fun Friends of Speedy TV challenge helps to get you going!  This week the challenge is to distress!  I did a few forms of distressing on my card.  First off, I did some sponging with several inks on my main image.  Second I roughed up the edges of my main images mat with my edge distressing tool (scissors would work the same way).  Finally, I masked over my sunflowers and stamped the cracked glass background from Background Fun.  My main image is from last week's prize set called Bring on the Sun.  For my card base, I scored a grid pattern and sponged over parts of it to show off the pattern a bit more.
 
I wish my sunflowers still looked as regal as this one.  As of now, my sunflowers are drooping and just about done blooming.  We have had an amazing streak of dryness here in Western Washington.  The temperatures are starting to fall and we have not had rain for 70-some days.
