A Scor-Pal and Heartfelt Creations Surprise Pop Up card

Hello there!  It's Toni with my turn to share a Scor-Pal and Heartfelt Creations project.  All week, the Scor-Pal design team is hopping with the designers from Heartfelt Creations.  You'll want to make sure you see every bit of stunning work that there is to see!  For this hop, I created a Surprise Pop Up card*.  When you pull up on those ribbon tails, you get a access to two more stamped areas and a message.
For this project, you will need:
  • 4 1/4" x 11" piece of card stock
  • 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of card stock
  • 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" piece of card stock
  • 1/2" x 7" piece of copy paper
  • Scraps of card stock for dimensional flower
  • Ruler
  • Craft Knife
  • Ribbon
  • Circle punches
  • Ink
  • Heartfelt Creations stamps (Beautiful You, Elegant Single Leaves, Lily Petals)
  • Heartfelt Creations dies (Perfect Petals die)
  • Additional adhesives (glue dots, foam tape, liquid glue)
  • Glitter

Place the 4 1/4" x 11" piece of card stock into your Scor-Pal with the 11" side against the top fence.  Score at 5 1/2".  Crease the fold and set card base aside.
Stamp the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of card stock with leaf image from the Beautiful You set.  This piece will now become your card front.
Insert your Scor-Mat into your Scor-Pal.  Place the 4 1/4" side of your card front against the top fence.  Place your ruler at 3/4" (or 3 1/2") and cut vertically from 3/4" to 4 3/4".  Turn the card stock 180 degrees and repeat on the opposite side.
Place the 5 1/2" side of the card front against the top fence.  Line your ruler up with the 4 3/4" mark and cut vertically from 3/4" to 3 1/2", connecting the two cuts from the last step.  This will create a flap that is open at the bottom.  (Oops, no pattern here because I forgot to shoot that step and had to go back and re-create the step for you).
Remove the Scor-Mat and place the card front with the 5 1/2" side against the top fence and the cut end of the flap against the left hand side of the Scor-Pal.  Score at 1 1/4" and 4 3/4" between the horizontal cut lines.
Turn the card front over and score at 2 1/2'" between the two horizontal cut lines.  Crease all of the scores from this step and the last step.
Punch a semi-circle out of the top of the card front.  Remember, the bottom of the card front has the cut end of the flap.
Take your 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" piece of card stock and wrap the 1/2" x 7" piece of copy paper around it.  Place a small bit of Scor-Tape where the ends overlap.  Peel the backing off and secure the ends together.  This piece of copy paper will stabilize the sliding part of the card that creates the surprise.
Line the top of the back side of the card front with Scor-Tape and adhere the copy paper stabilizer.
Line the right, left and bottom of the back side of the card front with Scor-Tape.  Line the 1/2" section of the very bottom of the folded flap as shown.
Remove the Scor-Tape backing on the 1/2" section of the folded flap.  Insert the 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" piece of card stock into the copy paper stabilizer and adhere to the back of the card front.
Remove the Scor-Tape backing from the right, left and bottom sides of the card front and adhere to the card base.
Now your card is functional and ready to embellish!

The tag portion of the Surprise Pop Up card has the corner rounded, a hole reinforcer punched and adhered before looping ribbon through the hole.  The leaves from Heartfelt Creations Beautiful You were repeated on the tag and a sentiment was stamped in darker ink.
The revealed portion of the Surprise Pop Up card was stamped with the same leaves and two more sentiments from the Heartfelt Creations Beautiful You set.
For the folded front of the Surprise Pop Up card, a dimensional flower was created by stamping with the Heartfelt Creations Lily Petals and then die cutting them out with Heartfelt Creations Perfect Petals dies.  Two leaves were created by stamping with the Elegant Single Leaves set and then die cutting them out with the same Perfect Petals die set.  Both petals and leaves were sponged with color to accent them.  After the petals and leaves were die cut and sponged, one single score line was made down the center and the Scor-Tool was used to round the edges of the petals and leaves.  The petals and leaves were adhered into a flower shape with glue dots.  Liquid glue  was applied to the flower center and then glass glitter was sprinkled over this glue.  The whole flower was then adhered onto the bottom half of the folded flap.
Here is the finished product when lying down flap and pulled open.
Here is another view of the card standing upright with the flap closed.
Thanks for having a look all the way through!
