Friends and Vellum - 04.28.14

Good Monday morning!  I'm back with another Friends of Speedy TV challenge.  Today, we are using vellum on our card.  I embossed my cowboy on some vellum and then created a scene for him to ride through beneath my vellum.  Some barbed wire, embossing and a sentiment back up this cowboy!  The only barbed wire in this cowboy's life is the unpredictable spring weather that makes planting a garden like rush hour traffic - stop and go!  During the making of this card we have had rain, sun and driving hail!  I'm really eager to get the garden all in so that we can take advantage of the nice weather that is predicted for later this week.  Hopefully, the seeds will get a jump start on sprouting!

Let's not forget that Mark's Finest Papers offers a free stamp set to one lucky participant.  This week, the set is called Halloween Selections
Oh man, this is a fun mini set that you can make tons of cards with!

Thanks for stopping by!

I chose the Oldie But Goodie stamp set, Be Wild & Free for this masculine explosion card!  I created an African scene on the front of my card with loads of sponging.  I added a sentiment and a zebra strip behind on my white card base.
My card opens up (pardon my hand and my daughter's hand, but these things are sometimes difficult to photograph) to show a few more animals and the rest of my sentiment.  I think these cards are great because there is so much room to write.  This card impressed my man and his two band mates.  One of his buddies asked where I got it...to which I replied, "Upstairs in my craft room".  His wife is crafty in a different sort of way so he could really appreciate the effort.

Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to head on over to Mark's Finest Papers tomorrow for links to the third day of the Oldies but Goodies Blog Hop!

Welcome to the first day of the Oldies But Goodies Blog Hop!  I resurrected Daffodil Greetings for this watercolor extravaganza.  I had a hoot just sitting at the dining room table with my water brush while my hubby ate candy and my daughter freehand cut construction paper to make a globe for Earth Day!  It was quite relaxing as the rain began to pitter patter outside and the wood stove began to warm the house.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Friends and Waterfalls

Good Monday Morning, crafty friends!  It's the Monday following Easter and I always associate this day with the birth of my sister.  She was born the day after Easter 41 years ago.  This year her birthday is this Wednesday, so it is close.  However, you didn't come for the birthday report.  You can because it's Monday and time for another Friends of Speedy TV challenge!  Waterfall cards are the order of the day.  Here is mine:
Interactive cards are extremely hard to capture, in my opinion.  I edited four photos to show you the look of this card.  If you move from the top left of the photo collage in a clockwise manner, this will show you the card in action.  I did shoot a video of the card in action, but I am not so tech savvy as to be able to include it here yet!  I'll keep trying!

Mark's Finest Papers always offers a free stamp set to one lucky participant and today's stamp set is Year of the Horse.  Check it out:
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

It's the final day of the April release and we are finishing off with a bang.  I just love florals and Camellia is fabulous set!  I used the medium sized camellia for my focal image and one of the sentiments with such a beautiful font under my focal image.  I used a border image from Love, Love, Love to run the length of the card base.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to head on over to Janine's blog for another look at Camellia.

Here's the Design Team: Lois, Kelli Jo, Karen , Kathy, Toni, Janine, Shirley Q, Vickie, Sandy, Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.
For today's card, I played with one round lantern in a repeated way.  I stamped it six times and cut three of them out, after I colored them.  I drew in some string or twine that they might be held up by.  I drew in a thin border and stamped a simple sentiment.  I matted my image panel with a purple layer and then popped it up off the card base.

That's it for me today.  Head on over to Janine's blog and come on back tomorrow for more creativity.

Details - Stamps: Lanterns (MFP); Paper: Choice Snow White (TE), Orchid Opulence; Ink: Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Copic Markers, stampin' dimensionals, Copic multiliner, paper snips.

My first thought was to use primary colors on this image.  I grabbed the wrong marker and ended up with a pastel blue to combine with my red and yellow.  I loved it and it reminded me of One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Suess.  I felt like it really worked with this cutesy alarm clock image.  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come on back tomorrow for more creativity.

My new friend, Frances has joined us in a couple of different configurations!  First up with see Frances in her cocktail dress.  I just took up the hem a bit for her!  She's ready to celebrate!
Next up, Frances grew her hair out a bit and lightened it.  She's very casual today as gives a neighborly wave over the fence!  Frances waited patiently as I masked and masked and masked to get this one just right.
Frances was just so busy (check her out on my teammies blogs), so I just borrowed her mini shovel and her basket of greens to create just the right card for my gardening girlfriends.

Thanks for stopping by, come on back tomorrow for more creativity!
