A Scor-Pal Back To School Pencil Box

Hello Crafty Friends!  We are getting back to school with Scor-Pal this week and you do not want to miss a single bit of it.  Today, I have a fun little pencil box for you!  With a handful of scores, a snip here and there and the ever essential Scor-Tape, you will have a happy little container for pencils!  Let's get started:
For this project, you will need:
  • Scor-Pal
  • Scor-Tape
  • 4" x 9" piece of card stock
  • 7" x 7" piece of card stock
  • Paper snips
  • Stamps
  • Ink
  • Embellishments
Place the 4" x 9" piece of card stock into the Scor-Pal with the 4" side against the top fence.  Score at 1" and score again at 3".
Turn the card stock 180 degrees so that your 9" side of the card stock is against the top fence.  Score at 1" and score again at 8".
Crease all of the scores and then trim tabs in 1" on the long side of the card stock.  The cuts will be on the 1" and 8" score lines.  Trimming a slight triangle makes for a clean edge.
Turn card stock over and adhere Scor-Tape to each tab.
Remove adhesive backing and fold tabs in to create the box.
If you will be stamping on your box cover, you may want to do that now with your 7" x 7" piece of card stock.  If not, place the card stock into the Scor-Pal and score at 1 1/4", 2 1/4", 4 1/4" and 5 1/4".
Crease all of scores on your box cover.
With the panels of the box cover defined clearly with the score lines, I stamped on the front of the box cover.
Turn the cover over and apply Scor-Tape to the first 1 1/4" panel, shown on the far right.
Remove adhesive backing and adhere box cover around the box base.
Here is one more view of the finished pencil box, all closed up.
I'm so glad you made it all the way through the tutorial.  I hope it has been helpful.  Have a wonderfully creative day!

Friends and Joy Fold (08/18/14)

Good Monday morning!  Here we have the next edition of the Friends of Speedy TV challenge and it is to create a Joy Fold card!  I will admit that this particular fold is tough for me.  I just never know how to decorate it.  Today's closure is the heart up left that is popped up on dimensionals so I could tuck the front flap underneath.  I took my cutie-patootie birds from Birds and Trees.  The sentiment comes from Coneflowers.  Have you seen all the great sentiments coming along with the florals that Mark's Finest Papers has been releasing????  If you haven't, you need to check it out.

Don't forget, Mark's Finest Papers offers a complimentary set to one lucky participant in this weekly challenge.  The set being offered today is Halloween Selections.  The timing is absolutely perfect to make a few fun Halloween cards.  I love this set for all the bats in it!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

It must be Christmas in August!  It's the only way that I can explain today's two sets.  I used Dear Santa today on a simple Christmas card.  I relied on my Copic Markers and some fun patterned paper.  I scored and sanded a simple frame for Santa and his classic statement!
This little guy comes from a set named "Brrrr".  He has a couple other friends in the set with him, but he looked so sweet I had to use him first.  I doodled a bunch on this card.  I drew in my snow, snowflakes and the bottom of his sweater.  I die cut a doily and glued it down and then taped down a double layer of ribbon.  Fun stuff today!  I hope it puts you in the mood for Winter!

Don't you just love the botanical twist on this Keys set!  I think it's gorgeous and couldn't wait to combine it with some yummy patterned paper.  I also did a little surgery on my long sentiment and now I have a stacked sentiment.

Don't you just love this hydrangea?  I adore it!  I had a ton of fun water coloring it with several pinks and then some light brown tones.  I added liquid pearls to the flower centers and some gold washi tape as border for my pink polka dot paper.  I think this hydrangea makes a super elegant card.  It reminds me of my paternal grandmother, who was also a very elegant woman.  My mother tells me that my grandmother always looked as if she had stepped right off the pages of a fashion magazine.  Like my mother, I am more practical than that.  However, my little girl appears quite trendy.  Time will tell, I suppose.

Thanks for stopping by and come on back tomorrow for more creativity.

You may have seen this on the Mark's Finest Papers blog.  I had fun with this even though black embossing powder and I are not friends.  It never fails that I end up with little black specks where I do not want them.  What's a girl to do, but roll with it!  I penned in a wire for this crow to hang out on.  A little sentiment and a couple of colored gems and that is a finished card!
The first thing I noticed about the new set called Scarecrows was all the fun fonts and sentiments here.  I thought, "Word Collage!" and a card was born.  Okay, I had to think about it a little more than that, but it was a no-brainer for me.  Fall colors are my favorite and I was more than happy to have them all spread out on my desk.  One thing you should know is that this is  a mini card.  It is 3.5 x3.5 so the die cut leaf isn't all that huge.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come on back tomorrow for more creativity.

Friends and Yellow and Grey (08/11/14)

Good Monday morning to you all!  I'm back with another Friends of Speedy TV challenge!  This week we are using yellow and grey on our cards.   I searched my mind (and stamp sets) for what made sense to color yellow.  I came up with this fun rubber ducky.  So then I created a background with grey Copic Markers and rubbing alcohol.  A little embossed background and a sentiment flag and I was done!  This card also plays along with a Dare To Get Dirty challenge.  It's a fun benefit event for Splitcoaststampers Fan Club Members.  Let's not forget that Mark's Finest Papers offers a stamp set to one lucky participant.
This week, the set up for grabs is Hoppy Easter with it's fun bunnies and fabulous sentiments.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Friends and Masculine (08/04/14)

Good Monday Morning!  There is lots of crafting going on in this household!!  Today's card is for the Friends of Speedy TV challenge to create a masculine card.  I nabbed the fish from On The Fly and a tiny dragonfly from the Dragonflies set to create this scene.  I embossed in some water and then colored the whole thing with my aquapainter and ink from the lids of my ink pads!  I pulled a sentiment from Firefighter for this card as well.
This week is also a fun week on Splitcoaststampers.  I have been playing along with many Dare To Get Dirty challenges.  A special event for Fan Club members.  It's given me a wonderful way to exercise and combine lots of my Mark's Finest Papers stamps!

As always, Mark's Finest Papers offers a free stamp set to one lucky participant.  This week the set that is being offered is called Halloween Selections.  You will need this set before you know it!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
