Hello and Happy Saturday! This week Shirley, our hostess, has chosen the theme for the Friends of Flourishes Design Team challenge. She asked us all to create a masculine card. As always, this is a difficult task for me. I just collect so many floral images that I had to really rack my brain to come up with an idea. Winter Birds to the rescue! The Black Capped Chickadee worked perfectly here with some minimal embellishment.
I find that texture always enhances a masculine card. I grabbed some corrugated card stock and die a few leaves to back up my chickadee. A simple knot in a silk ribbon finishes the card. Hopefully my silk ribbon didn't ruin the masculine vibe that I was working toward. Now, it's time to visit the Friends of Flourishes and see what they have created with beautiful water colors: Davi, Gloria, Kren, Shirley, Toni, Vickie.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.
Details - Stamps: Winter Birds (Flourishes); Paper: Ivory (Flourishes), Basic Gray, Corrugated card stock, plaid patterned paper; Ink: Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Wide Ivory Silk Ribbon (Flourishes), leaf die, paper snips, Copic Markers, Copic Multiliner, white gel pen, double sided tape, liquid glue, glue dot.
It is just beautiful, Toni!

ReplyDeleteA wonderful masculine card, Toni. I love the chickadee and you are so right, texture is perfect for the masculine look.
ReplyDeleteThat little bird is absolutely adorable. I have a feeder in my front yard so I can watch the birds all year round.
