November More Than One Score And A Book "Card" Tutorial

Hello Crafty Friends!  It's November 1st and time with another Scor-Pal More Than One Score challenge.  I did a little bit of research and found out that November is Family Stories Month and Picture Book month.  I decided to go with a theme of books or mini albums.  Any project, with more than one score, along that line will be fabulous! Today, I have made a Book "Card".  I promise that it is fun and not hard at all.  Let's get started!
For this project, you will need:

  • Scor-Pal
  • Scor-Tape
  • Two 5" x 7" pieces of card stock for accordion folded frame
  • Two 7" x 7" pieces of card stock for accordion folded frame
  • One 12" x 7 1/2" piece of card stock for book cover
  • One 5" x 7 " piece of card stock or designer paper for back of accordion folded frame
  • Two 1" x 7" pieces of card stock or designer paper for top of accordion folded frame
  • Two 1" x 5" pieces of card stock or designer paper for top of accordion folded frame
  • Rhinestone embellishments
  • Alphabet Letter die
  • Xyron Sticker Maker
  • Scalloped edge punch
  • Dimensional Adhesive
  • Wide grosgrain ribbon
  • Sanding Block

  • Place one 7" x 7" piece of card stock in your Scor-Pal and score at one inch intervals (1", 2", 3", 4", 5" and 6").
Flip over the same piece of card stock and score again at one inch intervals, this time starting with the 1/2" mark (1/2", 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 3 1/2", 4 1/2", 5 1/2" and 6 1/2").  Repeat the previous two steps with the second piece of 7" x 7" piece of card stock.
Place the 5" x 7" piece of card stock in the Scor-Pal with the 7 " side against the top fence.  Score at one inch intervals (1", 2", 3", 4", 5" and 6").
Crease the folds on each piece of card stock, carefully, with the Scor-Tool and create the four accordion folded sides of the frame.

Adhere a small piece of Scor-Tape to bottom fold of a 5" x 7" accordion folded side.
Remove adhesive backing and attach to the bottom fold of a 7" x 7" accordion folded side.  Take care to line up the corners as neatly as possible.  You will repeat this will all four sides of the frame and when it is finished it will look like the pages of the book.

Here is the finished accordion folded frame.  It might look a bit warped from all the handling, but it will be take care of in steps to come.
Line one side of the accordion folded frame with Scor-Tape.
Remove the adhesive backing and attach the a 5" x 7" piece of designer paper, right side down.

At this point, you will want to decorate the inside of the accordion folded frame.  Then line the top of the frame with Scor-Tape.

Remove adhesive backing and attach the 1" x 5" pieces of designer paper to the top and bottom of the frame.  Attach the 1" x 7" pieces of designer paper to the sides of the frame.  The designer paper in this example was punched with a border punch.

Place the 12" x 7" piece of card stock for the book cover into the Scor-Pal with the 12" side against the top fence.  Score at 5 1/2" and 6 1/2".

Crease the folds in the card stock to resemble the cover of  a book.
Cut two lengths of ribbon, apply Scor-Tape to each of the inside flaps of the cover, remove adhesive backing and attach ribbon.
Take finished accordion folded frame and apply Scor-tape to the bottom of it.
Remove adhesive backing and secure to the right hand inside flap of the book cover.  A second piece was created to attach to the left hand inside flap of the book cover.
Four small lines were scored into the spine and then sanded to highlight them.
Finally, finish the front cover of your Book "Card" as desired.
This concludes my tutorial for the November 2015 More Than One Score Challenge.

    Happy Scoring!
