Friends and Brads

Good Monday morning!  I'm back with another Friends of Speedy TV challenge card.  This week crafters are being asked to use 3 or more brads on their card.  I managed to use 8 brads.  After cleaning up in my craft room, the number of brads that I have discovered is a bit obscene (and stickers, eyelets, ribbon, paper...the list goes on!)  I opted for a simple card because it's my style and I wanted to make a quick and easy note card for a friend.  I embossed and sponged my card base, mounted my image on some specialty copper designer paper and added in my brads.  I popped up my focal image over my embossed card base and was finished.
Let's not forget that Mark's Finest Papers generously offers a free stamp set for one lucky participant.  This week, the set is called Corn Ears.
This is one of my favorite mini sets!  I hope you have a chance to play along!   Thanks for stopping by!

Details - Stamps: Buffalo Spring (MFP); Paper: Very Vanilla, SU specialty copper paper; Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake; Accessories: Stripes embossing folder, SU neutrals brads, sponge dauber, stampin' dimensionals, blender pen.

Friends and Altered Boxes

Good Morning and Happy St. Patrick's Day!  There will be no pinching on my blog today as I have plenty of green here.  Today's Friends of Speedy TV challenge is to alter a box.  I've been on a bit of cleaning binge around here and weeks ago I got rid of many of the boxes, tubes and other items I had saved for altering.  I was a bit stuck for something to alter so I scoured the house.  I came up with this box which had previously housed a book light.
I'm going to go ahead and keep it real here too.  Altered items are not my forte, so I kept my Scor-Pal and the Scor-Tape close at hand.  I measured first, then scored, taped and trimmed each side as I went along.  I think it all worked out just fine.  I embellished minimally with a paper tole flower from Love, Love, Love and created a sentiment flag with Holiday Tag.  I scored the leaves and knotted my organdy ribbon under the flower.  I was about to add rhinestones when my daughter suggest pearls instead.  She made a good call!

Let's not forget that Mark's Finest Papers offers a free stamp set to one lucky participant.  This week the mini set called Vroom is up for grabs.
I hope you get the chance to play along!  Thanks for stopping by!

This was a really fun set to work with. I know, I said that yesterday, but just look at that stork! I chopped up that sentiment and placed it in the clouds and then had to add a bit of pink sparkle for the baby girl.  I popped up my stork for just a bit more fun.  Come on back tomorrow for more creativity. This one was fun to create.  I stamped, colored and cut out my Buddha and then created a perch for him.  I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of my card base and then embossed it.  This set was particularly fun for me as my hubby just got back from Thailand and it reminds me of the time we travelled through Thailand.  It was my first introduction to Asian culture, a beautiful culture.

Come on back tomorrow for more creativity.  Don't forget to check out what the rest of the design team has done with this fun set.

Stamps: Buddha (MFP); Paper: Choice Snow White, Cajun Craze; Ink: Tuxedo Black, Cajun Craze; Accessories: PTI linen & canvas impression plate, corner chomper, Copic & Touch Twin Marker.

I really enjoyed these flowers and they reminded me of the Calla lilies that I had at my wedding reception.  This was simple to color and I opted to use very thin mats to highlight the yellow and green in the flower.  I embossed the card base with an impression plate and stamped a simple sentiment.

Come on back tomorrow for more creativity.  Don't forget to check out what the rest of the design team has created with this set.

Welcome to day 3 of the Mark's Finest Papers March release!  I know you will be seeing many of the fabulous pets today, so I opted to do something fun with one of the sentiment.  I did some minor stamp dissection (don't be afraid to do this) and easily stamped the two parts on my sentiment on separate hearts.  Then I goofed around with my embossing folder, Versamark and gold embossing powder.  Here is the end result!

Thanks for stopping by!  Come on back tomorrow for more creativity.  Head on over to Janine's blog to see what she has created for you today.

Friends and Spring Colors

Good Monday Morning!  We are in the middle of the March Mark's Finest Papers Blog Hop and I'm going to pause for a little Friends of Speedy TV fun.  This week's challenge is to create a card with Spring colors.  I couldn't resist going with a Spring theme too.  I broke out the set called Spring Things with these little critters.  I also borrowed the sentiment from the new mini set being released this month called Hoppy Easter.  When I think of Spring colors, I think of pastels.  On my card you will find pink, yellow, pale/mint green and a wee bit of lavender.
Let's not forget that Mark's Finest Papers offers up a free stamp set for one lucky participant.  This week the set called Recipe Completer is the set up for grabs.
Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to come back later and see what else Mark's Finest Papers is releasing.

Details - Stamps: Spring Things (MFP); Paper: Choice Snow White, Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink; Ink: Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Corner chomper, Copic & Touch Twin Markers, Sakura Clear Star gel pen, stampin' dimensionals.
