Ahhhh, Hydrangea, a set released in August of 2014.  Have I told you that I am a sucker for flowers?  This was my very first card I made with this gorgeous set.  I water colored this lovely image after embossing it first.  My flower centers are filled with liquid pearls.  I made this for the release and the blog hop celebrating it.
Of course, this is a more recent card.  I made this card for a Friends of Speedy TV challenge of late to make a card with a ribbon and a bow.  This was a fun card to sit and color.  Let me tell you that I colored for a while.  I cheated a bit though, I trimmed out my center and then placed a slightly larger silver mat underneath it.  It may look like I colored two sheets of blooms when I only colored one sheet.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have enjoyed this month's review of fave sets of 2014!

Tiger Lily is a fabulous set that was released in May of 2014.  I adore Stargazer Lilies, so I colored my image just like the flowers that grow in my Mother-in-Law's garden.  These beautiful flowers have a most delicious scent!  This particular card was made for a Friends of Speedy TV challenge to create a shaped card.
This particular card was colored orange like I think Tiger Lilies typically are.  I could be wrong about this, but my theory fit with this Friends of Speedy TV challenge to make a card with Turquoise and Orange.

Come on back tomorrow for more FAVORITES!!

Friends and Black and Red (01/26/15)

Good Morning!  I'm back to day with another Friends of Speedy TV challenge for the week.  This week we are using black and red on our cards.  I stamped this enormous bloom and got to work coloring with a couple of new pens I recently received.  I played with the new to me Chameleon Pens...so much fun!

I used a Copic multiliner to draw a thicker line around the border of my focal image and stamped a sentiment from the same set, called Huge Blooms.  What you can't see in this image is the sparkle from the Sakura Clear Star gel pen that I used to trace all the lines in the image.  A very clean and simple lay out did the trick for me.

Won't you join us this week?  There is a discount and a guest designer spot on the line.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Details - Stamps: Huge Blooms (MFP); Paper: Snow Storm Smooth (MFP), Real Red; Ink: Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Chameleon Pens (red and black), Sakura Clear Star gel pen, stampin' dimensionals.

Friends and Square Cards (01/19/15)

Hello and happy Monday!  It's a holiday here in the States and I am off work in honor of Martin Luther King.  Today's post is about the new Friends of Speedy TV challenge to make a square card.  So my card is square, with square layers and a little bit of distressing!  Have I told you that I love square cards.  My favorite number is four and I love how all the lines and corners are so neat and tidy!

I played with different patterns and textures here and I really like the result.  Not to mention, two discriminating 8 year olds thought my card was "pretty cool" as well!  I really enjoy soliciting my daughters opinion and it's even better when her friends are over.  After they saw my card, they asked for silk flowers and ribbon to embellish their sewing projects that they were working on.  Creativity inspires creativity!

I sort of popped up my sentiment with glue dots.  I contemplated layering the glue dots for more of a lift.  I ended up not doing that and I think I achieved enough separation between my embossed sentiment and the backing patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by and won't you play along?  There is a guest designer spot and a discount up for grabs.  Good luck!

Details - Stamps: Chicken Wire (MFP), Lots of Words (MFP); Paper: Very Vanilla, Tempting Turquoise, Vellum, MME Adventure dp; Ink: Versamark, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede; Accessories: Gold ep, paper snips, MM edge distresser, sponge dauber, Scor-tape, Gold cording, glue dots, stampin' dimensionals.

Friends and Ribbons and Bows (01/12/15)

Good morning and happy Monday to you!  I'm feeling quite refreshed as I bring you today's new Friends of Speedy TV challenge.  You see, I have just come off a productive 3 day weekend.  I took Friday off and stretched my weekend out.  My husband and I did many home projects and we have things looking quite in shape around here.  Today's challenge is about using a ribbon and a bow.  Hopefully, my ribbon and bow did not get too lost in my Hydrangea petals.  This set is a featured set at the MFP Stamp Shop
I started this card by finding a sketch to use.  I found this sketch on the CAS(E) this sketch! blog and off I went.  I repeatedly stamped my petals on one sheet of card stock and then colored them.  Finally, I cut out my center, matted it and popped it up for  this card you see in front of you!

Thanks for stopping by!  Won't you play along with us to earn a chance to be a guest designer at Speedy TV?

Friends and a Scenic Card

Good Morning and Happy New Year!  I'm back after a long hiatus with a new card for a new MFP Speedy TV challenge.  This week we are making Scenic cards!  I gathered together some fun sets to do a little bit of wish fulfillment on paper.  I would very much like it to snow.  As such, I used  Scenic Selections for my trees and Christmas Selections for my snowman.  Finally, I used took my Let it SNOW! sentiment from Brrr.  That is such a fun set!
With a new year, comes a new method of reward for participation.  Guest designer positions are now available for challenge winners, along with a shopping discount!  You will find all of the details here

Let's see what you can do!

Thanks for stopping by!
