MFP Stamps Challenge 35

Hi there!  I'll back with another challenge from the MFP Stamp Challenge Team. This week's challenge is to use orange on your card.  It doesn't have to be monochromatic, but it should be obvious that the theme is orange.  I had to do some thinking about what I wanted to create in orange.  I had a long sit down with my stampy stash and came up with the little fox fellow from Animal Birthdays
I was almost done and felt like my card was a little unbalanced.  I called in my consultant!  She's ten and super sassy.  However, when I confide my design dilemmas to her, she feels pretty important.  Together, we fixed up the little fox fellow with some strategically placed epoxy stickers.

There are multiple ways to win with the MFP Stamp Challenge.    Be sure to check out the blog for rules and guidelines.  Link up your project HERE, so we can see your amazing work!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

For my last card of the hop, I wanted to stretch a bit and try some water coloring.  I have seen some really beautiful water colored cards out in blog land and felt quite inspired.  I created a background and then embossed my mum over the top. I water colored the mum, distressed the edges and stamped my sentiment. Finally, I worked in some navy seam binding!

I hope that you have enjoyed this month's hop. Make sure to work on the tutorials and show us what you have made by August 26, 3pm CT and don't forget to comment! Come back on August 27th to see if you are a winner!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Using X's and O's

I'm today's hostess for the Ways To Use It challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  I picked the theme today of using X's and O's on your project because it's National Kiss and Make Up day.  Hugs and kisses equals X's and O's.

To make my card, I combed through my stash of stamps and found a hodgepodge of stamps to combine and make this design.  That's right, I made the background myself.  It's not designer paper.  I will however share my inspiration for this card.
I apologize for the coffee on the lip of the cup in the photo, but I rarely start my day without a hot cup of coffee.  If I am blogging, you know I am drinking coffee.  I picked up this gem of a cup at Michael's.  It was darling and I couldn't just leave it there even though I have dozens of coffee cups at home.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

For today's card, I played around with Kren's Window Tent card tutorial and made mine about football! Fall means football around here and tonight is another preseason game.  Pretty soon, there will be high school games and bright lights and chilly nights.  The talk in the staff room will be all about the Seahawks and their record.  It should be interesting!  A masculine card felt right for my football card and some patterned paper really helped me here.

I hope that you have enjoyed today's hop.  Come back each day to be inspired! Get to work on the tutorials and show us what you have made by August 26, 3pm CT and don't forget to comment!  Come back on August 27th to see if you are a winner!!  Thanks for stopping by!

It's day 2 and I'm beginning to feel the Fall vibe now.  When I began this card, I had a bit of a different plan.  I was going to make a card using Gail's Layered Embellishment tutorial.  But then my card took a turn, so I will just say this this card was inspired by the tutorial.  Just so you know, none of my paper is designer paper.  I was able to delve into my MFP Stamp Shop stamps and create background for all three layers that you see stamped there.

I hope that you have enjoyed today's hop. Come back each day to be  inspired! Get to work on the tutorials and show us what you have made by August 26, 3pm CT and don't forget to comment! Come back on August 27th to see if you are a winner!!  Thanks for stopping by!

It's time for another MFP Stamp Shop blog hop and clearly this month is all about Fall.  I don't know about you, but I am not ready for fall.  Fall means I have to go back to work and I still have a long list of projects I want to complete around the house.  However, time waits for no one.  My fall card for today emulates the pumpkins I have growing in my garden.  I got tricky with my Pots and Vases set to create this "pumpkin".

I hope that you have enjoyed today's hop. Come back each day to be  inspired! Get to work on the tutorials and show us what you have made by August 26, 3pm CT and don't forget to comment! Come back on August 27th to see if you are a winner!!  Thanks for stopping by!

MFP Stamps Challenge 34

Hi there!  I'll be blogging a bit on the weekends now that I am filling in on the MFP Stamp Challenge Team. This week's challenge is to use the Double Diagonal Pocket Card.  I'm pretty sure that I have never made one of these cards and I can reassure you that it's not too difficult to try.  It's really just a couple scores, cuts and folds.  Then, you are off to decorating some tags and the fun really begins.
I pulled my tags out here so that you could get a good look at them.  I also trimmed up some of the leftover designer paper to adorn my tags.
There are multiple ways to win with the MFP Stamp Challenge.  You can make a Double Diagonal Pocket card, you can follow the Collage Stamping Tutorial or you can make a card for the Anything Goes category.  Be sure to check out the blog for rules and guidelines.  Link up your project HERE, so we can see your amazing work!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Details - Stamps: Cracked Hello (MFP), Animal Birthdays (MFP), Celebrate Big (MFP), Big Cupcake (MFP); Paper: Unknown CTMH dp, Whisper White, Black Licorice; Ink: Tuxedo Black, Almost Amethyst; Accessories: Copic Markers, Paper Snips, Scor-tape, MM eyelets, Crop-a-dile, Corner Chomper, Stampin' dimensionals, Offray satin ribbon, tag punch, double sided ribbon punch.

August "More Than One Score" Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!  It's August 1st and time for another Scor-Pal More Than One Score challenge.  Our theme for this month is "All About Birthdays".  The timing of this challenge is perfect for me because I have so many friends and family members with July birthdays that my stash is wiped out!  Let's get started with my Scored Circle Birthday card.
For this project, you will need:
  • Scor-Pal
  • Scor-Tape
  • One 4 1/4" x 8 1/2"" piece of card stock
  • One 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" piece of card stock
  • One 3 5/8" x 3 5/8" piece of card stock
  • One 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" piece of card stock
  • Three kinds of double sided patterned paper
  • One 1 5/8" circle die or punch
  • Heart die or punch
  • Paper snips
  • Stamps
  • Ink
  • Dimensional adhesive
  • Embellishments as desired
After die-cutting or punching three circles from each pattern, place a circle in your Scor-Pal as shown. Score at 1/4". Rotate 90 degrees and score at 1/4" again. Do this two more times so that you have a scored square inside your circle. (Tip: Be sure to place the pattern face down that you want to peek out of the circle.)
Burnish the folds on all four sides. Repeat the previous step and this step for the remaining pattern paper circles.
Line the 3 3/8" by 3 3/8" piece of card stock with Scor-Tape.
Remove the adhesive backing on the Scor-Tape and adhere the scored circles to the card stock. Make sure that the sides are touching.
Continue to remove adhesive backing and line up scored circles until card stock is filled. Mat this layer on top of the 3 5/8" by 3 5/8" piece of card stock.
Continue with mats and embellish as desired.  This card is matted one more time with a 3 7/8' by 3 7/8" piece of card stock and then mounted on a 4 1/4" square card base. The heart was punched from some card stock and stamped with a delicate pattern. The sentiment was stamped on a 3/8" strip of card stock. The strip was adhered to the back of the heart and the opposite end was forked with paper snips. A small bow of baker's twine was tied and attached to the top of the heart. Finally, the heart and sentiment strip were attached with dimensional adhesive to the scored circle layer.
This concludes my tutorial for the August More Than One Score Challenge.
