I hope you won't mind terribly that I am repeating a couple of stamp sets today.  My design is nothing like the cards I used them on before.  You can likely imagine what my desk looks like in the midst of crafting.  Inks are piled here and stamp sets are piled there.  Well, since MFP Stamp Shop sets are made of clear photopolymer, you can see the images on top of one another.  This works especially well while they are adhered to the plastic sheeting they come in.  Christmas Selections was piled on top of Joyous Season and an idea was born.  Heat embossing is something that always feels right when I make Christmas cards, so that came into play as well.  I nabbed a third MFP set called You're An Angel for my sentiment.

If you have been hopping along, head on to Vickie's blog.  If not, you will want to go back to the beginning. Here's the Design Team:  JaneKarenKrenLois MarilynnPatSandySueToni

I hope you enjoyed the hop. Be sure to look at each of the last four days for more Christmas fun. We hope to inspire you to start your Christmas cards and projects.  You still have time to work on the tutorials, show us what you made.  Check back on August 15 to see if you are a winner. Thanks for stopping by!

Ah, I do love creating for the holidays!  It's been a joy to make holiday cards, even though when I finally reach my craft room the air is quite stuffy.  I used the Plywood set and a bunch of sponging to create the fence upon which I hung my wreath.  Then I stamped and colored loads of little holly clusters from Holly Jolly Greetings.  Finally, I finished off my card with a sentiment in the snow.  This particular sentiment comes from Joyous Season.

I recently (don't laugh if you have already been using this great resource) found books on CD and have been listening to a story as I create in my craft room.  I find that it helps to alleviate the stuck points at times when I am crafting.  I'm currently listening to The Hobbit.  Of course, I know the story and have read it.  Maybe that is why everything is flowing so naturally up there.

If you started from the beginning, you will want to move on to Vickie.  If not, head back to the beginning. Here's the Design Team:  JaneKarenKrenLois MarilynnPatSandySueToni

Using Space

Hello again!  Two posts on a Thursday...what a surprise!  It's because I am the hostess for the Ways To Use It challenge on Splitcoaststampers today.  My theme for this week's challenge is Space.  I'm a pretty easy going hostess...I've never called the challenge police.  Some things that might inspire you for this challenge are...the sun, the moon, stars, rockets, aliens and planets.  One another plane, you could chose to work with "white" space or "negative" space.

For my card, I chose this fun rocket and stamped a planet in white.  I used a CAS(E) this Sketch! sketch to make my card.  I love simple designs.  And this one was perfect.  I pulled my rocket off the edge because it needed some movement.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

I love it when you can take stamps that are not necessarily designed for Christmas and make them work on a Christmas card.  That's exactly what I did here with a set called Big Trees.  It's not a total stretch, but clearly when you look at the set...it's not for Christmas.  The sweet little birds that decorate my tree are from Christmas Selections.  If you have not seen this set, you should.  If you want to talk about bang for your buck, this is it.  There are 30 small images in this set.  Love!  Finally, I chose my sentiment to fit up in that corner.  The Happy Christmas sentiment comes from Poinsettia Blooms.  This particular kind of card, if you are unfamiliar, is called a center step card.  I find it marvelous for showing off solo images, like the big tree.

What fun this hop will be!  There are tutorials most days and eye candy every day!  Today, I have prepared for you a lovely tent card featuring images from Please Snow.  I just adore the snowmen and the stylized trees!  My design didn't allow much room for a sentiment, so I went in search of a small one.  I found just what I needed in another set called Crisp Winter.  There are some very cool images in this set too.  Take a peek!  If you didn't start at the beginning of the hop, you will want to.

Let's get started!! Here's the Design Team:  JaneKarenKrenLois MarilynnPatSandySueToni

Mojo Shoes

Happy Sunday folks!  I had a birthday party to attend yesterday and my six year old friend has a favorite movie.  I'll bet you can guess which movie it is.  Here's a hint:  She went to see Wicked with her parents and her grandmothers.  Yep, she's a big fan of the Wizard of Oz.  Now, you understand my red glittering heels and the use of blue checked patterned paper.  My daughter wrote in a sentiment about her friendship sending her "over the rainbow".  It seems my 9 year old knows a thing or two about the Wizard of Oz as well.

I used the current Mojo Monday sketch to make this card happen in a hurry.  I love personalizing cards and there wasn't anything in my stash that was just right for our friend.  I used the sketch as is and moved the star/heart just a bit to better balance my card for me.

Thanks for stopping by !  I hope your weekend finishes in the most marvelous way.

Scor-Pal More Than One Score, Summer Fun Edition

Hello Crafty Friends!  We are knee-deep in July and the Scor-Pal More Than One Score challenge for this month has a summer fun theme.  Katie is our featured hostess and she has a super cute ice cream stand card on the Scor-Pal blog.  It took me a little bit of thinking before I knew what I was going to do for my project.  I finally came up with something that I think you will really like.  I work for a school district and so I am off in the summer and end up doing heaps on canning!  I crafted this little berry box in which to present my homemade jams and butters.
Here you can see my little jar of jam poking out of my berry box and a swirl of red tissue.
I jazzed up the front of my box with some stamped strawberries, a banner and a delicious sentiment!
And just in case you are curious, here is a peek at the inside of my box before tissue and jam.

You have about two more weeks to submit your Scor-Pal Summer Fun project.  Let's see what you come up with.

Details - Stamps: Tart and Tangy (SU), Java Time (MFT); Paper: Real Red, Smooth White, Pebbles Fresh Goods dp; Ink: Real Red, Green Galore; Accessories: Scor-Pal, Scor-Tape, Up, Up and Away Shapeabilities dies, Copic Multiliner, stampin' dimensionals.
