July "Pinspired"!

Hey there, crafty friends!  It's been some time since I have posted a "pinspired" project for you!  I'm hoping that you will enjoy this one.  I found it here via Pinterest , of course!  While it doesn't fit with this month's More Than One Score theme, it's a card that is sure to impress. Here is my Pull-Up Lantern card.
For this project, you will need:
  • Scor-Pal
  • Scor-Tape
  • Four pieces of 2" x 12" card stock
  • Twenty pieces of 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" card stock
  • Four pieces of 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" card stock
  • Sixteen pieces of 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" patterned paper
  • One piece of 6" x 6" patterned paper
  • One piece of 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" card stock
  • Two pieces of 7/8" x 3 1/4" card stock
  • 12" length of ribbon
  • Stamp
  • Ink
  • Sponge dauber
  • Hole punch
  • Circle punches
  • Additional card stock for circles
Place a 2" by 12" strip with its long side against the top fence of the Scor-Pal.  Score at 2", 6" and 10".
Flip strip over and score at 4" and 8". Repeat with remaining 3 2"x 12" card stock strips.
If you chose to stamp sentiments on your card, then complete this now. There are four stamped 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" squares on this project.  The edges of these squares was lightly sponged with the same ink that was used for the sentiment.
Use Scor-Tape to assemble the four scored card stock strips.  The 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" stamped sentiment squares and patterned paper squares are matted on top of the 1 3/4' x 1 3/4" card stock squares.  Those 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" squares are adhered to the top five scored sections of the card stock strips.
Turn over card stock strips and line the sixth scored section with Scor-Tape.
Removed adhesive backing on Scor-Tape and attach one card stock strip in center of each side of the 6" x 6" piece of patterned paper.
Use Scor-Tape to attach the two 7/8" x 3 1/4" in a "plus sign" formation.  Use a hole punch to create a small hole in the center of the two pieces.
Punch three circles from card stock.  Punches measuring 1" and 3/4" were used here.  Mat the 3/4" circle on top of the 1" circle with Scor-Tape and punch a hole through the center.
Adhere Scor-Tape to the ends of the 7/8" x 3 1/4" strips which have been arranged in a "plus sign" formation.
Place the crossed strips under the top scored sections of the card stock strips.  Arrange it so that the "plus" is centered.  Carefully remove adhesive backing and attach to each strip one at a time. Take care to keep the "plus" centered.
Flip over the 6"x 6" patterned paper and line the edges with Scor-Tape.
Remove adhesive backing and attach to the 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" piece of card stock.
Fold 12" length of ribbon in half and push through the bottom opening of the hole punched in the center of the cross between the card stock strips. Adhere ribbon underneath with a Scor-Tape and one punched circle.
Adhere Scor-Tape to the back of the second punched circle.  Removed adhesive backing and thread ribbon through the bottom of the circle.
Be certain to adhere the matted circles neatly in the center of the "plus sign". The ribbon then is your means to pull up the lantern card and expose the strips.
This fun card has a bit of the spring to it due to the scored strips and can be helped to expand with the attached ribbon on top.

Thanks for visiting today!
