Altered Friends

Happy Monday!  It's been a long week and the week really took it out of me.  It was filled with things like Math Night, picture day, doctor appointments, lunch dates and Mother-in-Law's returning home.  With my focus elsewhere, my crafty mojo slipped away.  I think I may have it wrangled now, just in time for another Friends of Speedy TV challenge.  This week, challenge 42 is to create an altered item.  If you have been around my blog for long, you will have seen me make an altered junior legal pad.  I love this project.  It's fun and easy to make and a bit bigger and more fun to decorate!  (In case you need a tutorial, you can find it in this post here.)  otherwise, my cover pad front is pretty simply decorated.  I die cut a Fancy Lattice piece to cover my patterned paper above and stamped and drew in a border on the lower piece of card stock.  I stamped colored and cut out a single daffodil and two butterflies to mount on top of my background.

Here's a look at the inside.  I cut a piece of card stock and patterned paper to match and to decorate a bit more.  What you can't see is the little pocket on the flap for tucking in receipts or other notes you may need to keep.  Now don't forget that Mark's Finest Papers offers up a prize for one lucky participant.  This week the set called Christmas Music is the prize.  You can see it below.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Details - Stamps: Daffodil Greetings (MFP), Scenic Selections (MFP); Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Springtime Vintage dp; Ink: Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Basic Black taffeta ribbon, Copic Markers, Spellbinders Fancy Lattice Shapeabilities, dimensionals adhesive, Scor-pal, Scor-tape, Jr. Legal  pad.
