Scor-Pal's September More Than One Score Challenge - Bags & Boxes

Hello Crafty Friends! It's time again for another Scor-Pal More Than One Score challenge. The theme for the month of September is Bags & Boxes.  Our hostess will be Patti this month.  I'm sure she will have something extra special for us.  The project that I am presenting today is a Tent Box!  Be sure to check out what the rest of the Scor-Pal designers have created.
If you are like I used to be, the pictures and tutorials feel a little overwhelming.  I can't stress enough that these projects are easier than they look AND quite rewarding when you have a finished product in your hand. If you need somewhere to look for inspiration or help, try the Projects on the Scor-Pal website or our Pinterest board. I hope you will play along this month!

Thanks for stopping by!

Ways To Use "U" - May The Fourth be With You

Happy Thursday!  It's May 4th and you know what that means.  May The Fourth Be With You:  Star Wars Day!  That is the basis for the Ways To Use It challenge today.  I am the hostess and have asked players to create a card based on "U" or "you" or "ewe".
It's also Teacher Appreciation Week, so these projects fit both the Ways To Use It challenge and my needs at school.  The guitar card is for my daughter's 5th grade teacher.  He plays for his students every Friday. The tags were attached to Rolos covered in a ruler print paper. Our school secretary showed me the project she found on Pinterest and asked me to make the tags.

The guitar card is also based on a pin I saw a few years ago when I realized that my daughter was going to have three male teachers before she finished elementary school. Mind you, I work with all three of these men and do know a little bit about there interests.  If I really got stuck, I do know all of their wives!

Thanks for stopping by!

Dreams Kept

Oh boy, this was one of the last cards I made for VSN, Virtual Stamp Night, this go round!  I finished all the challenges last night.  I can't remember if I have ever done that and I'm pretty proud.  Of course, the timing of VSN was perfect for me.  VSN kicked off on the Friday that my Spring Break started, so I didn't have to work at all.

This card was made for Brenda's challenge to be inspired by the lyrics of Audition: The Fools Who Dream, a song from La La Land.  There was plenty to work with in the lyrics of the song.  I pulled from the chorus for my own card.   Since VSN challenges are time limited (projects must be completed in less than an hour), I used a Mojo Monday sketch.
I've got one day left of my Spring Break, so I guess I will use that to get myself organized and ready to go back to school.  It's the big push to the end of the school year, filled with state testing and field trips! Have a wonderful finish to your weekend.

VSN Animal Crossing

VSN, or virtual stamp night, is on at Splitcoaststampers!  Five challenges were released on Friday night and there were ten challenges offered up yesterday. The theme for VSN is April Fools.  Today, I am sharing the card I completed for Sally's VSN challenge called Animal Crossing.  Her thoughts are that April Fools is about having fun, so she asked the age old question, "Why did the chicken cross the road?".

Here is my chick for the chicken crossing challenge.  I nabbed the current Mojo Monday sketch to get me going.  VSN has a time limit and sketches help me stay under that limit. As it was I think I finished this one in 59 minutes.  Would you look at that bow?  It looks like my practice is paying off as bows have never been my strong suit.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Using Stripes

Oh yes!  It's Thursday and Dr. Suess Day!  I'm the challenge hostess for today on Splitcoaststampers.  Dr. Suess has created many amazing characters.  For today, I picked the Cat in the Hat and his unforgettable striped hat as inspiration.  I challenged crafters to use stripes on their project.  I chose red and white striped paper to match the Cat in the Hat.  When I made this last night, I had no idea that I would be wearing that very same hat at work today.  Too bad I couldn't turn this sentiment into a button for today.

Oh well, there is always next year!

Tropical Birthday CASE

My sister-in-law had a birthday on Saturday and went out of town for some birthday fun.  I asked my husband if he would like me to make a card for his sister and he said yes.  He asked for something tropical and purple.  I immediately knew which image I was going to use, so I looked to Pinterest and Splitcoaststampers for inspiration.

Well, I ended up with a straight up CASE of Bridget's gorgeous card.  My card is definitely smaller in size and I embossed my card base for a bit more interest on my card.  I doctored up some punched leaves and added a birthday sentiment to my card.  Otherwise, my card is very much like Bridget's original.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

More Dirt on Tuesday

I'm still playing along with the Dare To Get Dirty challenges over on Splitcoaststampers.   For Karen's challenge, I got out my Mark's Finest Papers set called All Postal and created a background for the trimmed out postage stamp images from an SEI paper pack called Mia Bella.  This was a fun one to create.  I used a CAS(E) this sketch by Karolyn Loncon and bam, I was done.

This was Tammie's challenge and a fun challenge to boot.  I opened up some new Verve to get this one done.  I used a Viva La Verve sketch and several different stamps sets and dies for this project.  I love how my apples look glossy.  What happened there is just how the ink took to some brand new stamps.  It's not embossed or anything.  Crazy, how things turn out while you are stamping!
However, I am woefully behind in my effort to make one card for every challenge.  I think I should close up my post and finish the card that I have started on my crafting desk.

Have a wonderful day!  Like my last post of Dare To Get Dirty cards, I will link up to my cards in my SCS gallery for a supply list.

Mojo Surprise

Welcome to the Mojo Monday Surprise Blog Hop for Julee Tilman.  Hopefully you have come from Maureen's blog.  If not, you will want to head back to Teresa's blog for the whole hop list,  so you don't miss a bit of today's fun!

If you know Verve, then you know Julee is the Owner/Designer Extraordinaire.  Julee and her husband are just about 4 weeks away from twin baby boys and this hop is to congratulate the expectant couple and welcome those baby boys.

Babies are such a blessing!  I got an afternoon of cuddles, just yesterday, with our neighbor's 5 day old baby boy.  I can barely remember when my daughter was so little and now she is five years old.  Time speeds by so quickly when children are young.  My husband often says, "I am never going to get this day back" and I am always reminded when he says this to make the most of my time with my family and really truly connect with them.

My wish for Julee and Mark is that they get to be fully present in the lives of their boys each and every day.  Find the joy in each day of development and witness the miracle that is your children.  Don't sweat the small stuff because those babies will not!  And for goodness sake, don't make my mistake...sleep when those babies sleep!

Thanks for stopping by here, you next stop is the wonderful Wanda Cullen!
