I just have to try

The CAS DT for the Clean and Simple Challenge on SCS is up in a few weeks. I really enjoy the challenge and play almost every week. I won't make the DT if I don't try, that is for sure. Chances are pretty good that I won't make the DT even if I do try, but I will end up with 3 lovely cards for trying (and at this rate, some really thoughtful comments). This card was made for the 3rd part of the application process, if you will, as CAS Autumn card. You can find all of the challenges here. This one also meets requirements for the OCC challenge this week.

This next card is for the monochromatic with a twist challenge. The task was to create a brown monochromatic card with a tiny bit of red. Strangely enough, the color challenge for this week ended up being Kraft, Real Red and Chocolate Chip. So I combined both challenges and away I went!

I guess that this card has a few more layers than normal with the paper piecing. I think it still qualifies for CAS. I really love how I could pick out the hearts in the steam with the red. If I thought I could control my Crystal Effects, I would have glazed up the hearts a bit.

Here are the specifics of my cards:

Pumpkin card:
Stamps: Holiday Blitz, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Very Vanilla, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede
Ink: Dusty Durango, Soft Suede
Accessories: MM wire, paper piercing tool (to wrap wire), glue dots, stampin' dimensionals, 1 1/4" square punch, 1 3/8" square punch

Coffee card:
Stamps: Hodge Podge of Happiness (Unity)
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Real Red, Versamark pen
Accessories: Vanilla taffeta ribbon, Nestabilities, stampin' dimensionals, corner rounder, two way glue pen
Techniques: paper piecing

All products used are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise posted.
